Outloud St. Albert, the organization providing community supports and services for 2SLGBTQ+ individuals, has announced the immediate cessation of its operations as of today (Friday, May 3).

The organization made the announcement in a release posted to the group's Facebook page and Instagram feed titled "Outloud Foundation to dissolve effective immediately."

"The needs of our vulnerable youth are still so incredibly important, and we hope that their needs continue to be met," the statement reads.

The statement says the organization's final event will be a crosswalk painting on May 26 in front of St. Albert City Hall. "We hope this will be our legacy event and take great pride in the support that the city has provided us.  (We) Thank both individual and corporate sponsors for their support. It has been an incredible ten years."

The organization celebrated its 10th anniversary at a gala event in March.

The Gazette is reaching out to the president of the Outloud Foundation Board, Kevin Malinowski, for further comment.
