A St. Albert Catholic trustee candidate will seek a third term in office this fall.

Greater St. Albert Catholic St. Albert Ward trustee Serena Shaw confirmed last week she would run for re-election this fall.

Shaw said her experience as a trustee, her three years as president of the Alberta Catholic School Trustees Association of Alberta, and her pursuit of a degree in faith, ethics, and justice shows she has the expertise needed for this job.

“We’re at a really exciting time with Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools,” she said, and she wants to ensure residents can continue to get authentic Catholic education.

Shaw said the board’s recent Faith in Our Future plan and the ongoing renaming process for Vital Grandin Catholic illustrates their ability to listen and respond to the needs of parents and students. Next term, she hopes to work with the school community to address the district’s capital needs and its efforts at reconciliation.

Nominations for the 2021 GSACRD trustee election are due Sept. 20. See www.gsacrd.ab.ca/trustees/election2021 for details.
