Athabasca RCMP have been on the scene of an unknown incident since early this morning March 22.

ATHABASCA - Athabasca RCMP have been on the scene of a currently unknown incident at the Cornwall Apartments on the east side of Athabasca since early this morning.

Yellow tape and at least three nearby police vehicles were seen at the complex at 8 a.m. this morning, and remain at the scene at 3210 Cornwall Drive at 5:30 this afternoon. One segment of the townhouses on the south side of the main building is taped off.

The Athabasca Advocate reached out to the local detachment via e-mail this morning, and 'K' Division media relations later this afternoon, and is awaiting an official release.

A source in the apartment complex, where an Advocate employee also lives, named a woman who was allegedly stabbed, but RCMP have not yet confirmed.

This article will be updated if more developments arise tonight.
