There is a big addition to the Arden Theatre’s summer concert series. Last year, music fans were so excited about the inaugural outdoor Plaza Series, organizers decided to bring it back a second time.
“We had a wonderful experience last year. The community really embraced an outdoor summer series, so we knew we wanted this to become a regular part of our programming,” said Caitlin North, professional programming presenter.
For nine consecutive Thursday evenings from July 7 to Sept. 1, concerts will be booked on St. Albert Place Plaza facing St. Anne Street. The intimate concerts will have a limited seating capacity of 150 patrons, with performances starting at 7:30 p.m.
Concerts dates are:
• July 7: Diyet & the Love Soldiers
• July 14: Maddie Storvold and The Misery Mountain Boys
• July 21: Ann Vriend and Jory Kinjo
• July 28: Cristian de la Luna
• Aug. 4: Edmonton Symphony Orchestra
• Aug. 11: Scenic Route to Alaska
• Aug. 18: Chloe Albert
• Aug. 25: Amplify Open Mic Night
• Sept. 1: Taylor Ashton
Tickets went on sale Friday, May 27 online at www.tickets.stalbert.ca. General admission is $15 for single tickets or $120 for a premium table that seats six. GST and handling charges are extra. In case of rain, concerts will move to the Arden Theatre.
Amplify Open Mic Night is the only exception. The evening is pay-what-you-can for individual seats. Suggested single seats and premium tables are $5 to $15. Anyone wishing to pay a different amount must contact the Arden box office directly 780-459-1542.
