To the person creating a garden using plants stolen from the St. Albert Botanic Gardens: You are a thief in four ways.
You stole the plants. You stole money from our donors and our customers who purchase roses, perennials, and items from our gift shop, and rent space for weddings and other events. Their generosity bought those plants.
You stole time and labour from the dozens of volunteers who spend hundreds of hours tending those plants.
And you stole beauty and enjoyment from the citizens of our city for whom the gardens were created.
Shame on you. I hope your ill-gotten gains give you no pleasure.
Lyn Reynolds, St. Albert
