It was nice to see that city council scrapped the solar farm project, now how much did it cost taxpayers to get to a "no" vote? More dollars wasted.
That's OK, the nasty tax increases are still going ahead and now a new one, a hike in the electrical franchise fees. This mayor and council will get the money out of our pockets one way or another. Just a reminder, a lot of taxpayers' pockets are empty and adding more taxation causes a lot of insecurity.
There have been solutions and suggestions brought to council on how to save, but those have been ignored, as usual.
To suggest the naysayers don't offer ideas on how council can save money is wrong. Council needs to actually look at these ideas, be responsible in spending decisions, and cut out the woke attitude.
Making our city inclusive is making it affordable for seniors to remain living here and new families to move in and be able to afford to live here. There are a lot of people who cannot afford to live in this city anymore, due to interest rates, inflation, ever-increasing taxes, and a council who feels the need to try and make themselves a "business" instead of doing the best "responsibly" for everyone.
