LETTER: Time for city to create recreation pass for use at all facilities

'Every venue has its own fees, so you can't access different venues within one day without paying two or three separate fees.'

City council needs to look at recreation and the fees for accessing all the recreation venues of St. Albert. Right now, it is a colossal mess. Every venue has its own fees, so you can't access different venues within one day without paying two or three separate fees. You can't even upgrade an annual pass for one venue to another which is more expensive.

For example, if I wished to upgrade today, my annual pass from Fountain Park Recreation Centre, which was purchased Aug. 27 for $359.10, to an annual pass at Servus Place, which charges $451.50, the difference of $92.40. I can't. In fact, I would have to pay out the full sum of $451.50 and take a loss of $359.10.

It is time that St. Albert's recreation department establish a Recreation Facility Pass to access all of its recreation venues. My suggestion would be to set the recreation pass fee — annual and all other time terms — at the Servus Place fee schedule.

Liz Samson, St. Albert
