Teen Emergency First Aid/CPR Certification Course

This is a Red Cross certified course – students will receive a certificate after completion. For ages 13 to 16 years. Cost: $100. Family Drop-in Storytimes at St. Albert Public Library

For preschool children and caregivers not registered in other storytimes. There is no need to pre-register for these programs, but please arrive 15 minutes prior to the program start time. There are four drop-in storytimes weekly:

Owls runs on Mondays in April from 11 to 11:30 a.m. (geared for 0- to 2-year-olds);

Turtles runs on Thursdays in April from 11 to 11:30 a.m. (geared for 2- to 4-year-olds);

Les Petites Pommes, a bilingual storytime (geared for 2- to 4-year-olds), runs Fridays in April from 11 to 11:30 a.m.;

Sunrise Storytime (geared for 2- to 4-year-olds) runs on Saturdays in April from 11 to 11:30 a.m.

International Astronomy Day: Public Viewing

On Saturday, April 13, weather permitting, local members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada will set up their telescopes for the public to look through. Through a telescope the public will be able to see the first quarter moon with its craters, mountains, shadows, lava beds. Mars will be in the west, not far from the Pleiades, a beautiful star cluster. Asteroid Pallas will be passing in the vicinity of Arcturus. The set-up will be at the southwest end of St. Albert Place between the parking lot and the bike trail from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. This is a FREE event for the whole family and will be held weather permitting. Easter Eggstravaganza at Rutherford House

Spring and Easter go hand in hand at Rutherford House. Explore this magnificent home and enjoy freshly baked cookies and make a spring-themed craft. Be sure to keep a watchful eye for the Easter Bunny as you do your scavenger egg hunt! Regular admission rates apply. Sunday, April 14, noon to 4 p.m. Rutherford House is a post-Edwardian mansion built in 1911 for Dr. Alexander Cameron Rutherford, Alberta’s first premier and his family. For many years, the home welcomed the political and social elite of Alberta. Today, Rutherford House is a designated historic resource operated as a museum by the province.
