More pandemic means more shows being postponed and canceled.

The Arden Theatre is pressing pause on more previously-scheduled performances due to the still-worsening fifth wave of the current pandemic.

“With the continued presence of COVID-19 in our province, the City of St. Albert continues to assess the evolving situation and is working with performers to determine any potential changes to show dates over the coming weeks,” reads the press release on the changes.

The postponements start with a show that was due for a two-day run in less than two weeks. Friends! The Musical Parody, originally slated for Feb. 11 and 12 has now been bumped to kick off summer on June 21 and 22.

The incomparable Mary Walsh has also moved from her spot on Feb. 17 to her new date in the fall: Oct. 25.

All previously purchased tickets for those two shows will be honoured for their new performance dates. If current ticketholders are unable to attend on the rescheduled dates, a refund will be issued.

All tickets will be automatically refunded for both Lúnasa and Lightwire Theatre’s presentation of The Ugly Duckling. Both performances have been bumped off of this year’s calendar, and have been rescheduled to the 2022-2023 season. They were originally scheduled on Feb. 25 and March 6, respectively.

The Arden Theatre will continue to assess the evolving situation for additional upcoming performances and will communicate any potential changes to dates as they are confirmed. Any questions can be directed to our box office via email at [email protected].
