ArtWalk returns for its 15th season on Thursday, May 2 to nine locations all around the Perron District from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Art displays and happenings in venues including WARES, St. Albert Public Library, Musée Héritage Museum, Art Gallery of St. Albert (and its Rental and Sales Gallery), Bookstore On Perron, VASA Gallery, Confections Cake Co., The Collective, and La Crema Caffé. Look for outdoor artists Tulip + Oink, Suzanne Foss, Palma Szabo, Sarah Hudson with Owl Adventures, Sarah Wourms, Bethany Turner, Terry Berg, Rhonda Drebit with Red Eagle Creations, Cassandra Ratcliffe, Jennifer Garman, Laura Edwards, Tessa Stanley, Tunde Vari, Ryan Mckiel, and Dwayne Huzar. Organizers are also offering free, family-friendly art-making programs and $5 Artwalking tours. Tours meet at Musée Héritage Museum at 6:30 p.m. and Art Gallery of St. Albert at 7:30 pm. The City of St. Albert invites residents to a special event on May 2 in the downtown core to coincide with the May ArtWalk. Attendees will celebrate the newest addition to Art in Public Places, Dylan Toymaker’s Bird Has The Ways, located along the Art Gallery of St. Albert’s new access ramp. Toymaker is available for a meet and greet in front of the gallery from 9 to 9:30 p.m. The public can also discover the City’s Cultural Assets Story Map, which identifies and documents the cultural resources of our community. During ArtWalk, residents will discover the new Cultural Map through the first-ever public demonstrations of the web application. ArtWalk participants will be able to create their own illumination-based artwork through a lantern-making activity from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Both activities take place in front of St. Albert Place from 6 to 8:30 p.m. www.stalbert.ca

The Indigenous Artist Market Collective offers authentic, locally handcrafted works by three or four Indigenous artists at its booth every Saturday at the Edmonton Downtown Farmers Market, which has moved from its summer outdoor setting to inside Edmonton City Hall (on the north side of Churchill Square) every Saturday until May 11.
