94 active cases of COVID-19 in St. Albert

Another 406 variant cases were detected in province, setting a daily record high number.

St. Albert currently has 94 active cases of COVID-19.

St. Albert added another seven active COVID-19 cases overnight, bringing the total up from 87 to 94.

The increase comes as the province continues to see a rise in active COVID-19 cases.

Morinville saw an increase of two positive cases, bringing active cases from one up to three on Wednesday.

Sturgeon County had 24 active cases on Wednesday, up from 20 on Monday.

Across the province, another 871 COVID-19 cases were diagnosed overnight, with 13,739 tests completed for a positivity rate of 6.3 per cent.

Another 406 variant cases were detected in province, setting a daily record high number. Variants now make up 31.9 per cent of all active cases in the province, with 2,660 variant cases active.

Currently 301 people have been hospitalized with COVID-19 with 63 of those in intensive care.

Three new deaths have been reported to Alberta Health bringing the total to 1,990.

Some 634,997 doses of vaccine have been given out as of March 30.
