A CFB Edmonton soldier charged with the attempted murder of her three children has adjourned her case to Oct. 10.

The woman, whose name is under a publication ban, appeared in Morinville Provincial Court Thursday morning. The case is set to come forward again Oct. 10.

The defendant is also facing arson charges. The charges stem from a July 20, 2015, fire at her house on the base.

A civil lawsuit filed by the soldier’s ex-husand alleges the three children were in their mother’s care when the fire broke out in the basement. The lawsuit, which is on hold while the criminal charges are underway, reportedly alleges the mother set the fire intending to kill herself and her children.

The defendant has denied all allegations.

Initially the fire was ruled an accident by military police, but the investigation was later reopened.
