Beaumont RCMP arrest three with firearms charges

A St. Albert man was one of three men arrested by Beaumont RCMP on Sunday after officers seized firearms and ammunition while executing a search warrant in Beaumont.

During the search, officers recovered two replica firearms, one loaded prohibited firearm, one stolen firearm, a prohibited pistol magazine, hundreds of rounds of ammunition in addition to other stolen property. 

Jacob Tyler Lien, 24, of St. Albert, Nicholas Morgan Anderson-Kootenay, 25, and Taylor Jean Fleming, 22, both of Beaumont, each face more than 20 criminal charges, including possession of a firearm obtained by crime, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of stolen property, and fail to comply with a release condition.

Following judicial release hearings, both Lien and Anderson-Kootenay remain in custody. They are scheduled to appear in Leduc Provincial Court on Thursday, March 18. Fleming was released from custody and will appear in Leduc court on April 8. 

The Beaumont RCMP GIS Unit was assisted by the Emergency Response Team, the Leduc RCMP Detachment and Edmonton RCMP GIS. 

This is the third seizure of firearms carried out by Beaumont RCMP GIS this year.
