Crews called to balcony fire at St. Albert condo complex

Crews have yet to determine the cause of the fire. 

St. Albert and Edmonton fire crews snuffed out a fire on a second-floor balcony at the Sierra’s of Inglewood condo complex on Tuesday, Sept. 7.

Witnesses reported smoke from the building at 10:30 a.m.

Crews evacuated 29 of the complex’s 154 residents to the St. Albert Inn and had the fire out by 11:50 a.m.

The fire damaged a second- and a fourth-floor balcony and may have affected one suite.

Crews have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
