Three Edmonton suspects have been arrested and charged with aggravated assault, kidnapping, and forcible confinement of a woman from Alexander First Nation.

In a Jan. 11 news release, Parkland RCMP said a "lengthy investigation" has led to the arrest of Shayla Louise Rattlesnake, 32, Jason Tyler Bruno, 24, and Venessia Katelynn Cardinal, 28.

Mounties said the victim of the March kidnapping was found seriously injured on a rural roadway in Parkland County, and sustained life-threatening injuries before being taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

The victim has since been released and is recovering, RCMP said in the release. RCMP are not releasing the name of the victim.

All suspects are currently in police custody. Cardinal is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing today in Stony Plain, with Rattlesnake and Bruno scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 19.

RCMP said in the release they do not anticipate further updates.
