Eighteen more COVID-19 cases diagnosed in St. Albert on Wednesday

​​​​​​Another 18 cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed in St. Albert, bringing the city's active cases up to 124. Seven more people have recovered.

On Wednesday, the province released COVID-19 data showing active cases in the city climbing from 110 to 124 overnight. 

In Sturgeon County, another five active cases were added, bringing the total of active cases to 44. Morinville has 20 active cases, up from 14 yesterday. 

Across the province another 1,351 cases of COVID-19 were identified overnight after 14,051 tests were run for a positivity rate of 9.6 per cent. 

Another death was reported, bringing the provincial total to 2,002. 

There are currently 333 people in the hospital with 79 of those in intensive care. 

The province has 11,464 active cases of COVID-19. 

Between March 29 and April 4, the R value in the province – the number of COVID-19 infections each sick person causes – sat at 1.17, with the Edmonton Zone at 1.18, the Calgary Zone at 1.17 and the rest of Alberta sitting at 1.13. 

As of April 6, 755,831 doses of vaccine have been distributed.
