Morinville RCMP lay charges in sex assaults dating back to 1995

The RCMP said the charges were laid after a thorough investigation into two separate complaints, and said the victims were teenagers at the time of the assaults.

The Morinville RCMP have charged a 53-year-old Sturgeon County man with sexual assaults that allegedly occurred between 1995 and 1999.

Richard Tremblay faces two charges of sexual assault and one charge of touching a young person for a sexual purpose while being a person in trust or authority.

Tremblay is set to appear in Morinville provincial court on May 12.

The RCMP said the charges were laid after a thorough investigation into two separate complaints, and said the victims were teenagers at the time of the assaults.

"Morinville RCMP admires the courage of victims reporting incidents similar to this and encourage all others to do the same," stated a media release on Saturday.
