For many moms, the warm cuddly feelings associated with having a baby don't arrive with her child. Postpartum depression can hit and cause serious mental health problems for new moms. The Gazette sat down and talked to one mom who was suffering from the illness after the birth of her child in 1999.

The following is our story that appeared in the May 5, 1999 paper.

Audio from the Archives

We've told tens of thousands of St. Albert stories over the years, and there are endless more stories yet to be told. Often, as months turn into years, these stories become forgotten, living only in the pages of the Gazette archives.

The Gazette is reviving some of these stories in audio form. On a regular basis, we will dive into our archives to delight, entertain and educate you about the wonderful community we live in.
