Police ask public to avoid the area between Giroux Road & Ray Gibbon Road

There is a heavy police presence in the area; however, there are no public safety issues at this time, said a press statement.

RCMP report there is an "unfolding event" happening in the North West quadrant of the city. The RCMP are asking residents to avoid the area.

The St. Albert RCMP detachment is asking the public to avoid the Northwest quadrant of St. Albert, between Giroux Road & Ray Gibbon Road, due to an unfolding event. 

On May 27 at around 3:00 p.m. the St. Albert RCMP sent out a press release stating pedestrian traffic will be rerouted and there will be a heavy police presence in the area until the matter is resolved.

“There are no public safety issues at this time; however, should this incident prolong, it may interrupt activity in and around the area,” said the release.

“No other information will be provided at this time.”
