The fate of the Riverbank Landing development will be decided today after a public hearing that is expected to go into the evening.

Throughout the day today, St. Albert City Council will hear from 58 registered speakers to speak in favour of or against the new development, which would be constructed over five to seven years next to the Shops at Boudreau.

The development would see five buildings on the former Hole's Greenhouses site, two of which are 40 and 50 metres high, with 360 residential units and about 67,700 square feet of commercial space (for reference, the Botanica building next to the site is 37 metres tall).

The Gazette will be providing updates throughout the day on the public hearing and outcome of the vote.
