Second person has died from COVID-19 in St. Albert

Since the onset of the pandemic, St. Albert has seen 122 cases of the virus reported in the city with 109 people having recovered. Eleven people are currently diagnosed with the virus, down from 14 cases on Sunday.

A second person has died from COVID-19 in St. Albert.

On Monday, Alberta Health Services (AHS) data showed another person from the community had died from the virus.

This is the second person in St. Albert to have died from the virus since the city’s first death was recorded in July.

Since the onset of the pandemic, St. Albert has seen 122 cases of the virus reported in the city with 109 people having recovered. Eleven people are currently diagnosed with the virus, down from 14 cases on Sunday.

The provincial health authority has not yet released any further details on the local death.

The Edmonton zone has the highest number of cases in the province, with 982 active cases and 4,663 people recovered.

There are currently 1,783 active cases in the province. Total recovered cases are 16,872. Ninety-seven new cases were identified and 12,630 tests were completed on Oct. 2.
