When Shelley Littlefair bought a ticket to the June 19 LOTTO MAX, she was secretly hoping to win a small chunk of change.

Upon reading the draw numbers, the St. Albert resident thought she’d won $1,000. But she’d misread the zeroes.

“I thought ‘wow, did I just win $1,000? Nice!,’” recalled Littlefair. She was shocked when the cashier checking the ticket informed her she’d won $100,000 with the EXTRA.

Littlefair, a regular player, bought her ticket earlier on the day of the draw at Campbell Park Esso, 275 Carnegie Dr.

In a statement from Western Canada Lottery Corporation, Littlefair says she’s not made any firm commitments on how to spend the windfall, but added some is going to her children.
