Hunter Alexander Duncan, 23, who is facing a second-degree murder charge in the strangulation of Breianna Schamber, made his first appearance in Edmonton Provincial Court on Friday.

Edmonton Police Service arrested the St. Albert man on June 11, seven months after Schamber was found dead in her Duggan home in December 2019.

Duncan appeared on CCTV (close-circuit television) as Curtis Steeves, his defense lawyer, requested an adjournment to thoroughly review his client’s file.

Duncan will next appear in Edmonton Provincial Court on Friday, July 31.
