St. Albert mayor calls special council meeting on COVID-19

A notice from Mayor Cathy Heron, sent to media shortly after noon, said the purpose of the meeting is to allow city staff to update council on COVID-19 with respect to programs, services and city operations.

Update

City council unanimously delegated authority to chief administrative officer Kevin Scoble to make decisions around closing public facilities, halting city programs and cancelling city events, and has approved $1 million to help deal with situations arising out of the global coronavirus pandemic.

St. Albert city councillors will gather for a special council meeting at 2 p.m. Friday.
