An Edmonton man and a woman face numerous charges after a reported theft at Karries Kostumes in Tudor Glen.

Back on Oct. 7, St. Albert RCMP responded to a call from the costume shop immediately after a theft had occurred.

A masked man and woman entered the shop at about 3:30 p.m. While staff were assisting customers, the duo stole a light Plexiglas case containing close to 200 Halloween-style contact lenses. The value was pegged at $7,000.

The St. Albert Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) with the assistance of the General Investigation Section (GIS) and general duty members, executed a warrant at an Edmonton residence on Oct. 22 searching for stolen merchandise.

The stolen contact lenses, three firearms, methamphetamine, fentanyl and GHB were discovered.

As a result of the investigation, Dallas Scott, 42, and Victoria Fairbairn, 36, were detained. They face various charges including theft over $5,000, possession of stolen property over $5,000 and trafficking in stolen property over $5,000. They were also charged with possessing a firearm with a tampered serial number, unauthorized use of a firearm and possession of controlled substances.

Both are scheduled to appear in St. Albert Provincial Court on Dec. 21.
