St. Albert RCMP look for suspect who broke into cannabis store

The break-in happened Nov. 27.

The St. Albert RCMP is asking for help identifying someone who broke into a cannabis store on St. Thomas Street on Nov. 27.

RCMP said in a media notice that an unknown male broke the front glass window at the store at around 11:30 p.m., then unlocked the front door. The suspect walked around the business, then left without taking anything.

The next morning, around 7:30 a.m., a suspect the RCMP believes could be the same person re-entered the business by removing repairs to the glass window and once again unlocking the front door. This time, RCMP said the suspect took a lighter and pre-rolled cannabis cigarettes worth about $100.

Photos from the first incident show a male suspect described as 40 to 50 years of age, with a grey beard and slim build. He wore a baseball cap, a dark grey jacket with a grey design on the sleeves and a blue logo in front. He also dressed in dark pants, hiker-style winter boots and carried a large, bright orange backpack.

The male suspect in the second incident is described as 25 to 35 years with a slim build. He wore a grey and white baseball cap, a dark jacket with a print pattern over the entire jack and large blue logo on the left chest area. He also carried an orange and white backpack with black padding.

Anyone with knowledge of this crime is asked to contact the St. Albert RCMP Detachment at 780-458-7700. If you wish to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.P3Tips.com.
