St. Albert RCMP warn of banking scam

The person posing as a bank employee convinces the individual to send Bitcoin to clear up the suspicious activity.

The St. Albert RCMP is warning the public about a scam where victims are contacted and told they have had suspicious activity on their bank account.

The person posing as a bank employee convinces the individual to send Bitcoin to clear up the suspicious activity.

St. Albert RCMP is reminding citizens that no legitimate bank, financial institute or company will ask for Bitcoin for payment or otherwise.

Anyone who has information on any crime is asked to contact the St. Albert RCMP Detachment at 780-458-7700 or their local police.
