St. Albertans came together this past weekend to pay tribute to those who fought for peace a century ago.

The day marked the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day. In St. Albert, flagbearers held their flags high as people lined the street outside the cenotaph on St. Anne Street to watch the parade, sing the national anthem and observe speeches and a meditation from Maj. Ken Macrae, the branch padre for the St. Albert Legion.

The parade began at 10:30 at the Legion and wound its way to St. Anne, where the formal ceremony commenced.
