Sturgeon County driver killed after two vehicles collide with moose

Five other people suffered minor injuries in the collision.

A Sturgeon County driver was killed Monday night when her car collided with a moose on Highway 63.

Redwater RCMP said on Wednesday they are continuing to investigate the collision, which they responded to on Aug. 3 at approximately 11:30 p.m.

Preliminary information showed a car was heading southbound on Highway 63 near Township Road 622 when the collision occurred. A northbound truck also collided with the animal.

The 41-year-old female driver of the car from Sturgeon County was pronounced deceased at the scene. A child in the car suffered minor injuries and was transported to hospital. The four occupants of the truck suffered minor injuries.
