Taking stock of service levels

The city is starting to integrate its service level inventory into priority-based budgeting as it continues to move toward the new budgeting strategy.

The city is starting to integrate its service level inventory into priority-based budgeting as it continues to move toward the new budgeting strategy.

The inventory is a tool used to help council make decisions around the delivery of programs and services as well as a monitoring tool. This is also meant to help shape council’s decisions if they are considering changing service levels during the budgeting process. This is why the city is moving forward with integrating the inventory to the new priority-based planning budget approach. The work is expected to be completed in the fall of 2019.

The inventory covers a wide range of city services from the front counter to recreation and even public safety.

The community will have a chance to provide some feedback on service levels through the bi-annual community satisfaction survey, which is being planned for the fall.
