Thirty new COVID-19 cases in St. Albert

Another 44 people are listed as having recovered from the virus.

St. Albert has recorded 30 new cases of COVID-19 overnight in the city.

On Wednesday the province released new COVID-19 data that showed an additional 44 recoveries in the city, bringing the total recoveries up from 1,246 on Tuesday to 1,290 the next day. 

Overall, active cases dropped from 315 down to 301. 

Sturgeon County has 68 active cases with 447 people having recovered from the virus. Morinville has 58 active cases of COVID-19 with 238 people having recovered. The town has reported another two deaths, bringing the total to five deaths since the pandemic began. 

Across the province another 1,287 cases were diagnosed overnight bringing the total cases up to 100,428 since the pandemic began. 

There are currently 14,555 active cases in the province. Nine hundred twenty-one Albertans are in the hospital, with 152 of them in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

There were 14,741 tests completed in the past 24 hours.

Alberta Health reported another 18 Albertans have died from the virus, bringing the total deaths up to 1,046 since the pandemic began.
