Three injured in multiple-vehicle collision

Morinville RCMP continues to investigate the circumstances of a multi-vehicle collision which occurred on Highway 2 on Thursday evening.

On June 16 at 5:15 p.m. Morinville RCMP and emergency crews responded to a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 2 at the intersection of Township Road 554, RCMP said a statement released today. Multiple people were injured in the crash.

Through investigation, the RCMP determined that four vehicles which were stopped at a set of lights at the Highway 2 intersection were hit from behind by a southbound tow truck carrying two additional vehicles, according to the statement from RCMP.

Three people were taken to hospital with various injuries, and one person remains in hospital in serious but stable condition.

RCMP do not believe alcohol was a factor in the collision.
