Two St. Albert teens arrested, charged in drug bust

Drugs, firearms, and cash seized from home on Mission Avenue.

Colton Myers, 18, and a 15-year-old female, both of St. Albert, were arrested and charged following a month-long RCMP drug trafficking investigation. 

The duo was arrested on May 22 after officers searched a residence on Mission Avenue and seized the following drugs: 678 psilocybin capsules, 212 grams of dried psilocybin (cap and stem), 236.61 grams of dried cannabis, 180.93 grams of cannabis concentrates, and 9.5 grams of cannabis edibles. A functioning scale and organized packaging materials with varying sized bags and labeled stickers were also seized. 

In addition, officers discovered a loaded 22-calibre long rifle, a 20-gauge sawed-off shotgun, a box of ammunition, a loaded black BB gun, a bill counter, and $3,160 in cash. 

Myers and the youth have both been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and three counts of possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling. 

Weapons charges are as follows: possession of a firearm knowing the serial number was altered, defaced or removed; storing a prohibited/restricted firearm in a careless manner; possession of a weapon or imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose in public; possession of a firearm without a licence, and possession of a loaded prohibited/restricted firearm. 

They have also been charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. 

Myers was held for a judicial hearing and is scheduled to appear in St. Albert Provincial Court on Monday, June. 21. The female youth was released from custody and  is set to appear in St. Albert Provincial Court on Tuesday, July 6.
