Investigators have determined that an incident where a 15-year-old female alleged a male and female attempted to abduct her was fabricated, RCMP said in a media release.
"Westlock RCMP and RCMP General Investigative Section have investigated a matter where a 15-year-old female alleged a male and female attempted to force her from the Spirit Centre Arena in Westlock, Alta.," the release said. "The RCMP has determined, after a detailed investigation was conducted, that the incident was fabricated. The matter has been resolved and no charges have been laid."
“I want to ensure the public that their safety was not at risk as a result of this incident,” says Cpl. Filipe Vicente. “We understand that the public was very concerned by this information, and we are pleased to be able to provide this update that the incident did not occur.”
