Help at this popular, family focused, kids’ triathlon with lots of multisport fun, Sunday, June 13 in St. Albert. Emphasis is on fun and safety where volunteers work inside the pool counting laps, outside directing traffic and in the transition area and water stations. Marshals help athletes find their way and boost the morale of the kids with cheering.

This local trail has a 300-kilometre-long volunteer-managed and maintained wilderness trail that has day hiking, backpacking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in the Edmonton area. If you have a love for nature and the outdoors and familiarity with landscaping tools then volunteer as a chain saw, weed eater or power mower operator or general maintenance worker. Shifts can be any day of the week but are mostly on Saturdays.

Do you enjoy the outdoors and gardening? Volunteer at our local botanic park where duties include light labour such as planting, watering, weeding, mowing grass, trimming hedges and general maintenance duties. Volunteers with carpentry and light engine maintenance skills are also required.

Are you an efficient organizer and do you have good computer skills, specifically with a spreadsheet program such as Excel? In this role, you will create a system for scheduling 75 ambassador volunteers throughout the duration of the games, input volunteers into the schedule and make adjustments as needed. Position is flexible for you to work at home or in the office. Having your own laptop would be an asset.
