It promises to be a barnburner Sunday, when Storm United and Revolution FC clash in the St. Albert Women’s Soccer League. Kickoff is 7 p.m. at Grosvenor field.

The division one teams always bring out the best in each other. The budding rivalry started in the 2007 tier I league final, a 2-1 Revolution victory. In last year’s fixtures, it was 2-0 Revolution and a scoreless draw between the two teams. They both would go on to post disappointing playoff results. In the tier I semifinals, the first-place Storm was humiliated by the Morinville Ladies 5-0 and Revolution was upset 4-0 by the Pink Panthers, the eventual league champions.

The Storm (6-0) is led offensively by Ashley Brandt’s four goals in five games. Krista Gordon is the top scorer for Revolution (3-1-1) with three goals in five games.
