Men's soccer

The St. Albert Impact 2 men’s soccer team will be taking on Futballers FC in a game at Riel Park on Monday.

Impact 2 still have a chance to catch up in the standings, with four games left in the season.

Impact 2 (2-2-6) are currently seventh in the standings, with a season total of eight points so far, with 10 goals for and 16 against. Futballers FC (4-1-4) sit in fourth with 13 points, 18 goals for and 21 against.

This will be the St. Albert team’s second game against Futballers FC this season, after winning their first game 2-0 back in May.

Impact 2 currently has a top scorer on their roster: Samuel Smith Ackerl has six goals so far this season.

The game is at 7 p.m. on Monday at Riel Park in St. Albert.

Women's soccer

The St. Albert Premier women’s soccer Impact 1 is facing off against Impact 2 at Riel Park in St. Albert on Tuesday.

Both teams are sitting only a few points from each other in the standings with less than a month left in the season.

St. Albert Impact 1 (6-0-7) are currently tied for sixth in the league, with a season total of 18 points so far, with 29 goals for and 33 against. Impact 2 (6-3-3) sits in fourth in the league with 21 points, 26 goals for and 18 against.

Impact 1 currently holds two of the league’s top scorers – Brittany Kindzierski with 10 goals, and Casey Paplawski with six.

This will be the teams’ second game against one another this season, with Impact 2 taking the first game 2-1 back in May.

The game starts at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Riel Park in St. Albert on field 1.

Cardinals face off

The St. Albert Cardinals will be battling the Parkland Twins on Sunday in what should be the last home game before Tier I Provincials at Legion Memorial Park.

It should be an interesting game, with the Cardinals (15-5-0) currently sitting in third with 30 points, while the Twins (19-1-0) are first with 38 points.

The teams play one another in two consecutive games – one Sunday afternoon and one Thursday evening.

The game is Sunday at 4 p.m. at Legion Memorial Ball Park’s Midget Diamond.
