Rugby rush this weekend
Three St. Albert Rugby Football Club teams will be hitting the field starting with the Rockers Athletic Club versus the Edmonton Rugby Union division two women at 11:45 a.m.
1:30 p.m. Alberta Cup premier men, who are the defending Labatt’s Cup provincial champions, versus the Leprechaun Tigers.
3:15 p.m. the Alberta premier women versus the Nor’Westers Athletic Association.
Miners at home
The senior B St. Albert Miners will be spending some time at home.
The three-time defending President’s Cup national champions have two Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League games in the city at the Go Auto Arena:
Saturday versus Calgary Mountaineers at 3 p.m.
Sunday versus Calgary Raiders at 5 p.m.
The Miners (3-1) are currently tied for first in the standings with the Rockyview Knights.
Mixed results for Impact
St. Albert’s premier women saw mixed results in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.
The Impact 1 team (2-2) lost to the Angels Scottish SC 2 at Scottish on Tuesday 2-0. Impact 1 will be back on the field Sunday at 2 p.m. against the Northwest United at ESA Complex.
Impact 2 (1-0) were shut out against Northwest United 2 at ESA Complex 0-4 on Tuesday. Impact 2 will be up against the Angels Scottish SC 2 at 2 p.m. at Scottish.
Impact 3’s game is scheduled at 4 p.m. at ESA Complex against FC Excelsior.
Impact 1 is currently sitting in third in the standings.
St. Albert Impact 4 division 1A women plays on Saturday at noon against Wind at Goldstick Park.
7 p.m. on Monday against Rionero FC at Riel Park.
St. Albert Impact 2 division 1A men play on Saturday at 6 p.m. against Spruce Grove Saints at ESA Complex and 8:15 p.m. on Monday against Punjab Warriors/Al-Ikhwan at Foote Field.
St. Albert’s Major Soccer League men’s team were shut out by the Edmonton Green and Gold 6-0 on Wednesday. Impact 1 (0-4) has their next game Saturday against FC Edmonton U20 at 2 p.m. at Riel Park.
Rookie, mosquito Cardinals fly into mid-season tourney
The St. Albert Cardinals will be busy with a mid-season tournament, which got underway on Friday and wraps up on Sunday.
9U start at 10 a.m. on Saturday with games at Alpine Park, Gatewood Diamond 1 and 2, Mission Diamond, School Diamond #4 and Skyline Ball Diamond 1.
11U start at 9 a.m. with games at Flagstone Park, Fountain Park 1, 2 and 3, Legion Memorial Ball Park – Mosquito Diamond.
Sunday’s games start at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.
