The senior bowl is the first step towards making the provincial team for the Football Canada Cup in Saskatoon in July. Last year tailback Chris Dobko of the Skyhawks competed at nationals for the Alberta silver medallists. After one year of junior with the Edmonton Wildcats he was recently signed by the Calgary Dinos for the upcoming Canada West season.

The St. Albert lady Skyhawks are holding a June 12 fundraiser at the SkyDome in support of their trip to Cuba in December.

Tickets are $5 at the door for the celebrity basketball game, silent auction and barbecue. The silent auction starts at 7 p.m. and the game between the celebrities and Skyhawks tips off at 8 p.m.

In Cuba the Skyhawks will train with the Cuba national team program. They are also rounding up sports equipment to give to Cuban youths during the trip.
