The St. Albert Tigers proved Sunday that previous results mean nothing when it comes to playing in their home tournament. For the second straight year, the senior AAA squad came out on top at the Tigers Baseball Tournament at Legion Memorial Park.

The bantam AAA St. Albert Cardinals split Saturday’s doubleheader with an up and down performance in Sherwood Park. In the opening game the Cardinals banged out 20 hits to outscore Sherwood Park Green 18-12.

Andy Tiedemann of St. Albert was in the starting line-up as Canada upset France A at the Churchill Cup in Glendale, Colo. Sunday’s 33-27 victory marked Tiedemann’s seventh appearance for Canada.

The St. Albert Impact premier and division one men’s teams in the Edmonton District Soccer Association kick the ball at Riel Park this week. Tonight’s doubleheader in the division one fixtures starts at 7 p.m.

Andy Tiedemann of St. Albert earned his fifth cap with Canada in last Saturday’s 48-6 rout of Uruguay at the Churchill Cup in Glendale, Colo. The 21-year-old prop was in the starting line-up and subbed off in the 62nd minute.
