U.S. takes gold, Canada silver at para hockey championship

OSTRAVA, Czech Republic — Team Canada is taking home silver from the world para hockey championship after dropping a 3-2 overtime decision to the U.S. on Saturday.

Brody Roybal scored the game winner for the Americans, adding to regulation goals by his teammates Josh Pauls and Declan Farmer.

Liam Hickley and Rob Armstrong each put up a tally for Canada, and goalie Dominic Larocque stopped 19-of-22 shots.

Netminder Steve Cash had eight saves for Team U.S.A.

The Canadians dominated through the tournament, posting a 10-0 win over South Korea on Friday to advance to the finals.

Canada beat the U.S. in the final of the last world championship in 2017.
