On September 1, 2019, Alan Neil Herbert was graced by angels sent by God to free him from his suffering. Alan gained his angel wings after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Alan passed away peacefully and without pain. Everyone who knew Alan appreciated his sense of humor and his commitment to family and hard work. He always had a smile and a kind word for young and old alike and was always ready to share his jokes and stories. Alan leaves behind his wife Carol who was the love of his life and his best friend for 44 years, sons Andrew (Brianne Campbell) and Christopher (Alyssa), sisters Diane Johnstone, Val (Bruce) Cameron, and Adele Heyworth, brother Bruce (Maureen), as well as numerous nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and our extended Tintinaglia family. Alan was predeceased by his parents William and Phyllis,
brother Tim, great niece Avery Cameron, in-laws Emil and Sophie Angelo, and
brothers-in-law Doug Angelo and Len Heyworth.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at the Edmonton Cross Cancer Institute's Symptom Control & Palliative Care Consult Program and the Grey Nuns Community Hospital Unit 43 for the compassion they provided while Alan was in their care, as well as Debrah Shiozaki, Home Care Nurse at St. Albert Health Services.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a private interment at a later date.
. A Celebration of Life will take place on September 26th, 2019, at 1:00 pm at the St. Albert United Church, 20 Green Grove Drive, St. Albert, Alberta, T8N 5H6.
