1943-2021
It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Wally Anderson who died peacefully on June 6, 2021, at the age of 77 years.
He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife, Karen Young; children, Brad Anderson, Yvette (Ron) Rothweiler, Rod Anderson, Natalie (Chad) Lane; grandchildren, Steven, Eric and Jasmine Rothweiler, Ashton and Kyle Anderson, Braxton Lane; great grandchild, Artemis Anderson; brother, Charles (Ruth) Anderson; sister, Earlene Lindstedt and many other family members, friends, and colleagues.
He was predeceased by his parents, Earland and Mabel Anderson; and siblings, Marion Anderson, Marjorie (Arthur) Marks, Bea (Joe) Thomson; and brother-in-law, Henry Lindstedt.
Wally was a wise and dedicated High School teacher for the St. Albert School Division for over 25 years and a small business owner. He retired from teaching in 2000 and spent the last 15 years of retirement snow birding in San Jose Del Cabo (Mexico) and traveling with his wife Karen.
Wally enjoyed spending time with his family and friends whenever an opportunity would arise and will be forever remembered for his thoughtfulness, sense of humor and compassion for others.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions a Private Family Memorial Celebration will be held, pending the phase 3 Covid-19 announcement. The family will be in contact with those who are able to attend.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta, T6G 1Z2.
