1945 – 2021

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Bob Bird of St. Albert on Monday, October 11th, at the age of 76 years.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years, Gillian; children: Andrew, Laura (Sean), and Michael; grandchildren: Erik and Evie; siblings: Dave (Carol) and Dorothy (Cliff); brother-in-law, Ian (Eileen); beloved dog, Megan; as well as numerous relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, David and Emily; and sister-in-law, Lucille.

Bob was born in Burlington, Ontario. He graduated from McMaster University and worked in the oil and gas industry in both Ontario and Alberta for 35 years. He met his wife, Gillian, whilst on holiday in England and they married in 1979. They moved to St. Albert in 1983 where they raised their three children. Bob loved travelling, woodworking, exploring the outdoors, crossword puzzles, mystery novels, and most of all spending time with his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Robert Bird’s name to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. Your care and support for Bob will always be remembered.
