BODDEZ, Victor Rene (Vic)

Posted

1937-2020

It is with great sorrow that we mourn the passing of Victor Boddez on November 17th, 2020 at the age of 83 years. Vic is survived by his daughter Janet (Ryan) Vranas, his sons Brian (Michelle), Rob (Colleen) & Tom (Sarah), his step daughter Bonnie Iseke (Paul), and his grandchildren Adam and Nicole, Shaun (Scott), Michael (Taylor) and Steven, Ben, Georgia and Ethan, Tyson (Morgan), Brittany and Caitlin (Curt) and great grandchildren Farrah, Faith and Myla as well as his siblings Marge (George) Kluthe, Gerard (Laurel) Boddez, and Donna (Jean Marc) Michaud.

He was predeceased by his wife of 41 years, Patricia, stepson Jason Engel, his parents Firmin and Lorene, and siblings Joyce, Evelyn, Edgar, Wayne, Joseph, Dennis, Rita and Helena.

Dad was a gentle and optimistic man who loved his family dearly and was your friend for life. Whether it was the daily phone call with Leo, sing alongs with Don and Sherry and the gang, curling in the winter, time with friends at local establishments or invitations to the lake, all were an important part of his life. His passions were fishing, curling, singing and he was a great dancer. You need not ask twice to hook up the boat and go, and he couldn’t wait for curling season to start. Dad would be the first to lead us in a Happy Birthday, Elvis tune or O Holy Night. Farming was a big part of his early life, as well as working for Egg Lake Coal Mine and Norcen. He continued to maintain his home site, keeping grass cut, gardening and caring for pets.

We would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff at the Sturgeon Hospital ICU Unit #29 who are the most compassionate and hard working team of professionals. A sincere thank you as well to Fr Jozef Wroblewski for coming to the hospital to give Dad his final blessing. Finally, we would like to thank everyone for the masses offered and the multitude of prayers said for Dad and our family during these difficult last few weeks.

As this pandemic has affected our family deeply, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Morinville Adopt A Family who will be helping so many families during the upcoming holiday season, many of whom have also been affected. Cheques to Adopt a Family can be mailed to 8804-103 Avenue, Morinville, AB T8R1C5 or e-transferred to [email protected] and include Dad’s name in the notes.

We would love nothing more than to celebrate Dad’s life with his family and friends, but your health and safety are important to us, so please remember him in your own special way.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Should you wish to send condolences they can be sent to: trinityfuneralhome.ca.
