We are sad to announce the passing of Debbie Cherdarchuk of Sturgeon County on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at the age of 65 years. Debbie was a wife, mother, nana, friend and lifelong entrepreneur.
Born in Germany, Debbie considered herself an army brat. She moved across the country, finally landing in Alberta where she put down roots and started a family with husband Ron, and raised two boys, Cory and Chris, a pack of golden retrievers, and built First Choice Tree Nursery. After surviving hantavirus in 2012, Debbie continued to grow, diving headfirst into the world of cut flowers, establishing Birchwood Meadows where she continued to learn and teach surrounded by nature. A Christmas lover with a green thumb, a special human who touched so many with her passion and love, Debbie will be dearly missed.
A celebration of her life will be planned later this summer on the farm she loved so much.
