1967 – 2019

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David Aubrey Taylor on August 10, 2019 at the age of 52, after a long and difficult battle with liver disease and cancer.

David will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife, Sandra Kuspira and his two cats: Murphy and Striper. Dave will also be greatly missed by his mother and father-in-law, Ed and Minnie Kuspira; sister-in-law, Laureen Weber (Brian); brothers-in-law, Kelly Kuspira (Susan) and Bryan Kuspira (Patsy); eight nieces and nephews; seven great- nieces and nephews; as well as numerous friends.

Dave was born in Montreal in July of 1967, his parents and brother having recently immigrated to Canada from Scotland. The family lived in Labrador for a time then moved to Selkirk, MB where Dave lived until 1999 when he moved to St. Albert to be with Sandra. Dave was predeceased by both his parents, Joan and George Taylor; as well as his only brother, Andrew.

Dave was very shy but those lucky enough to have known him knew that he loved all animals, football, blue rare steaks, fine timepieces and his French-cuff shirts. He was always a sharp dressed guy. Dave was passionate about golf and was a proud member of the Glendale Golf & Country Club where he spent many hours with friends. His favourite place on earth was Hawaii. But more than anything else, Dave loved planes and loved to fly. It didn’t matter where he went; flying lifted his spirits and filled his soul like nothing else could.

In speaking with so many friends during Dave’s final days, it is comforting to know that he touched the lives of many with his warmth and kindness, his sense of humour and gentleness.

Dave, you were the best life partner I could ever have hoped for. Our twenty year journey together was far too short, and I am so sad to see you go, but comforted that you are no longer struggling with pain and burdens that your illness placed upon you. I know now that you knew you could not promise to love me for my entire life, but I will love you for all of mine. There will never be a day when I won’t think of you and wish you were by my side. Godspeed my love.

I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Sturgeon Hospital and University of Alberta Hospital ICU’s for their compassion and for providing Dave with exceptional care and showing him the dignity and respect that he deserved in the final weeks of his life.

At Dave’s request there will be no Memorial Service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta SPCA, 17904 – 118 Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB T5S 2W3.
