August 5th, 1953 - October 13th, 2019
It is with great sadness that the family of Don Kennedy announces his passing, on Sunday, October 13th, 2019 at the age of 66 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 45 years, Connie, and his two sons Glen (Suzie) and Marc (Nicole). He will also be fondly remembered by his five granddaughters, Julia, Aubrey, Makenzie, Brechan, and Natalie, by his siblings, Albert (Shelley), Brian (Brenda), and Janice, and by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray, Albert (Sheri), Sylvia (Bernie Dupuis), Co (Mark Brenholen), and Lue (Bob Anderson), as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Don was predeceased by his parents, Donald Kennedy and Vivian Verhaest (Kennedy), and his baby brother Glen.
He was born in Calgary, AB, but moved to St. Albert in his teens, where he met his love, Connie and went on to serve as a Respiratory Therapist in Alberta Healthcare for over 35 years. He loved being outdoors, whether it was hunting, golfing or gardening, but by far Don’s favourite thing to do was to watch his boys curl. In his earlier years he was an athlete himself and developed a love for curling, golf and football. His happiest days were coaching his boys in all that they did.
The family wish to extend a special thank you to the ICU staff at the Sturgeon Community Hospital for their care and compassion.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 1st, 2019 at 2:00pm at Westlawn Funeral Home, 16310 Stony Plain Road, Edmonton.
