On Tuesday, April 20, 2021 Dorothy Holyk of St. Albert, Alberta, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was a dear soul, an “ever loving wife” a Mom, Grandma, Aunt, Sister-in-law, and a dear friend to many. Dorothy was a generous, kind hearted lady with a funny little sense of humour and huge love for animals. Over her almost 86 years, Dorothy made many life-long relationships while nursing and taking part in community activities such as UCW, and Lamont Catering Club.

Dorothy will be forever cherished by her husband Joe, her son Darrell, daughters Cheryl (Andrew) and Peggy (Greg),  treasured eight grandchildren, three sisters-in-law, dear friend Pat and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Willard and Margaret, brother Murray and niece Karla.

Dorothy’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all the staff of Westview Continuing Care & Hospice in Stony Plain including the doctors, nurses, health care aids, cleaning and front desk staff. The manner in which they cared for Mom and us, her family, with such compassion will always be deeply appreciated. We would also like to thank the staff of St. Albert Retirement Residence for their care of Mom and Dad over the last few years. Special thanks to Dr. Chung in St. Albert for his excellent medical care over the past few years.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date when Covid restrictions ease.
