On July 3rd, Norah Hook (née Plumley) passed away peacefully at the age of 98 years. 

 

She was preceded by her husband of 65 years, John “Jack” Hook; her siblings, Lois Munday and Jack Plumley; and her parents, William and Margaret Plumley. 

 

Norah will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Arlene Shandro (Moe Shandro), Linda Hook (Gary Cooper), Maureen Hook (Ben Williams), and Claire Powell (Raymond Powell); her eight grandchildren; and her seven great-grandchildren.

 

Norah was born on May 28th, 1923 in Athabasca, later living in Edmonton, Namao, and St. Albert. During her long and full life, Norah was many things to many people. She was an aircraft repair-person during the Second World War. She was a prolific and adventurous traveler. She was a gifted painter and poet. As a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Norah was the cornerstone around which her family began, grew, and celebrated. In all things, Norah lived with endless love, strength, and persistence, and she is reflected within those who remember her.
